The Tonle Bassac slum in Phnom Penh is one of the most gritty parts of Cambodia's capitol city. The concrete buildings and surrounding shantytown are home to a sort of university where young students practice traditional Cambodian theater, dance and music in daily classes.
The slum is home to more than 1,000 families who moved to Phnom Penh from the countryside in the hopes of finding work and a better life.
